Our feckless administration, "And Josh Earnest is still lying."

From RedState.com:

For those of you who have been in a medically induced coma, or who decided to spend the Obama presidency in a drunken stupor and have unexpectedly sobered up, the situation in Yemen has gone from dire to completely f***ed up to a crisis. The sorta-mostly friendly government was overthrown by Iranian backed rebels; US Marines charged with protecting our embassy were disarmed on the way out of the country and all their equipment abandoned; US intelligence was turned over to the Iranians (which, to Obama, may be a feature not a bug as he’s more open with the Iranians than with our allies or the Congress); US special forces abandoned their last base in Yemen; and now the Saudis and ten other Arab nations have begun military operations to restore the previous regime.
The signal foreign policy accomplishment of the Obama administration seems destined to be setting the stage for a full-blown thermo-nuclear war. Under Obama,  Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq have been destabilized as a direct result of policies implemented by Obama. Yemen has teetered on the brink of anarchy for decades but even the fragile veneer of stability has been effectively knocked in the dirt under Obama. Jordan, like Yemen, has always been a potential powder keg and the policies of Obama have made a civil war there a very real possibility. The quick march towards possession of a nuclear weapon by Iran that Obama is intent on has guaranteed the Saudis will use some of their vast wealth to buy weapons from Pakistan if not develop their own. Turkey will be forced to follow suit.
And Josh Earnest is still lying.

Irrationality, stupidity, or malice in the Obama Administration?

I don't know whether this administration is intentionally malicious, or just stupid beyond belief.  We have a Muslim country (Egypt) doing more to protect and avenge Christians in the Middle East than our own country.  Our own pResident refuses to say the Islamic state is Islamic.  His dull-witted Deputy State Department Spokesperson, Marie Harf, says we can't win a war against ISIS by killing them. Apparently, she believes we need to make sure they have jobs.  That's a double joke because our pResident has done all he can to destroy our economy, and any recovery we have sustained since the 2008 meltdown has been despite his policies.  Given this administration's track record on immigration, they'll probably have jobs here in the U.S. before long.  Every job created since the beginning of the Great Recession has been taken, or at least offset, by an illegal immigrant.  With his open borders policy, those immigrants could just as easily be Islamic terrorists as Central American farm workers.

The Obama Administration Is Trying to Screw Up WiFi and Broadband Internet Access

I do not believe there is any aspect of our lives that the Obama administration will not attempt to screw up, take over, or make more expensive.

First, why is the Department of (In)justice involved with the IEEE standards process, especially as it pertains to WiFi?  Could it be that the big companies pushing for these changes are intimate with this administration?

Obama's Government Takeover of WiFi

Second, this administration has re-defined what broadband internet access means.  The FCC now says that anything under 25MBps is not broadband.  Don't those idiots know that redefining a term doesn't change the reality of it?

New Year's Resolutions

Today is the second day of the new year, so I'm going to write about the same thing everyone else writes about at this time of year; namely, New Year's resolutions.  So here are mine:

1. Become proficient in Xamarin, so I can write Windows Phone, Android, and iOS apps, all in one code base. At about $1,000 for the Xamarin tools to do all that, it isn't cheap, but should be worth the investment.

2. Get some kind of Microsoft certification.  I've been doing development in the Microsoft environment for 25 years; it's about time I got some kind of official recognition that I know what I'm doing. (Some may disagree, but only Microsoft's opinion counts.)

3. Finish the remodeling projects I started in the kitchen, family room, and first floor bathroom of my house.

4. Start a new remodeling project in the master bathroom of my house.

5. Exercise more and eat better.  Yeah, everyone says that.  I intend to do more aerobic and strength training, trim about 15 pounds off my weight, and distribute what's left in a more pleasing fashion.  I worry about SHTF and TEOTWAWKI scenarios, and I don't want to be too weak or out of shape to take care of my family.  I really hate the thought of going to a gym, though, because I just don't like being around other people that much.  I think walking in decent weather and using resistance bands are a good start, as well as one of those gadgets that let you pedal while you're sitting on your butt blogging or watching The Big Bang Theory.  I ordered one of those fitness tracker bands, but I don't know how well it's going to work with the bicycle thingie.  Maybe I'll strap it to my combat boot.

A note about the best lawyer in Lee's Summit.  The opinions expressed in this blog are mine and mine alone and do not reflect the opinion of anyone at The Law Offices of Dennis Bonner & Associates.
